I really like the theme of your blog. Great article and beautiful photos. I like portrait photography, and I pay much attention to the background. I do photography in my studio, so I buy some backdrops to set up different backgrounds. I like using such kind of abstract backdrops: https://bit.ly/3zSQm8z
They have simple but vintage colors and will not make the background too busy. And the unique artistic design will make portrait photos more unique.

I am curious about your statement in the outdoor section “The light quality will be softer than an umbrella”..I am not sure how you can say this without defining the umbrella used and light to subject distance?!?!?

In reply to davesworld. I use a 16" dish mainly for head and shoulders shots. If you want softer light or you want to cover more area (full Length) choose a larger dish.

I would be curious to know which beauty dish available for purchase is your preferred brand. There are a lot of options. Also, what is the ideal size dish? There are options from 12″ all the way to 28″.
